American Oystercatcher

The American Oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus) is found on Pacific coast from northwest Mexico to central Chile, and on Atlantic- Caribbean coast from northeast USA to south Mexico and from Venezuela to Argentina. It frequents flats, sandy beaches, river mouths and estuaries, mudflats, headlands, and salt ponds. Matures are 46 cm (18 inches) heights and 550 g weights.

Its head, neck, and chest are blackish. Underparts and upper tail-coverts white. Iris yellow, bill red to orange, and legs pink. This bird feeds on mollusks, and other invertebrates.

American Golden-Plover

This little animal (Pluvialis Dominica) is also known as Lesser Golden Plover. They are migratory pass through Central America between January and April. The bird has one of the longest known migratory routes of over 40,000 km (25,000 mi). Its size is 26 cm (10 pounds) and its weight 150 g.

The breeding adult American golden plover has a black face, neck, breast, and belly, with a white crown and the head is small. The immature is similar but with yellow-buff spotting.
