Great Egret

The Great Egret (Casmerodius albus) breeds from Southeast Canada and North USA to South Chile and South Argentina. Often called Common or American Egret. This bird frequents marshes, estuaries, lake or river margins, tidal flats and salt ponds. Its measures are of 101 cm (40 inches) in height and 95 g in weight.

This vertebrate is all white, whit the longest heron neck, and yellow bill and black legs. It forages alone and eats fishes and frogs.

Whistling Heron

The Whistling Heron (Syrigma sibilatrix) is found in Central and South America. Its natural places are open areas, woods, and savannas, up to 500 meters above sea level. Its measures are 64 cm in height and 546 g in weight.

Adults are above dark gray, with white throat, and streaked with black. Underparts are barred with pale reddish-brown and white. Its tail is gray. This bird eats birds and small mammals.
