Highland Tinamou

The Highland Tinamou (Nothocercus bonapartei) is found from Costa Rica and west Panama, and in north Venezuela to northwest Peru. It lives in highland forests, usually alone and in the floor. Matures are 38 cm (15 inches) in height and 850 g in weight.

Adults are above olive-brown, vermiculated with brown and spotted with buff. Foreneck is olive-brown, and its breast and belly dull cinnamon to buffy-brown. Upper mandible blackish and lower yellowish. This bird feeds on fruits.
