Thicket Tinamou

The Thicket Tinamou (Crypturellus cinnamoneus) lives from west and northeast Mexico to Costa Rica. Is found in forests and second growth, in areas with dense understory. In dry season they prefer evergreen gallery forest. Its measures are 28 cm (11 inches) in height and 480 g in weight.

Its upperparts are heavily barred with brown or buff and black. Underparts are mostly cinnamon-buff, barred with black on flanks. Throat white, upper mandible blackish and lower yellowish. It eats fallen fruits, seeds and occasionally in small litter animals.
